The Garmin Approach R50 is Garmin's premium, all-in-one camera unit — its headline features are a built-in touchscreen and slow-motion swing video, making it unusually self-contained. It's polished, the Garmin app is slick, and you don't necessarily need a separate device to get going.
The downsides are the price (around $5,000, steep for the ecosystem), that it's newer with a smaller community, and fewer third-party simulator options than the open-platform rivals. Buy it if you want a premium, tidy, screen-included unit and you like the Garmin ecosystem. If you want maximum software flexibility or better value, a Bushnell Launch Pro or Mevo+ is worth comparing.
